Dear Captain & Crew - “Vishwa Samunder Sundri” ,

What a performance – show!!

 Wow!!

I as president of SCOF salute you for the xllent show that you put up to entertain SCOF memberships and made the evening a great success.

My special thanks to Director Poonam Vaidya for writing-directing and finally getting together a great skit. Poonam without your leadership and dedication it would have not been possible.

 Thanks you ladies.

Now SCOF knows which direction to sail for entertainment skills.

 Cheers!!

TO : EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE - SCOF
ATTN : Poonam

Dear Poonam,

Thanks for these detailed comments and observations.  I would like to commend
you for the wonderful job you have done in creating the skit and equally
wonderful job done by all the participants in bringing out and conveying your
thoughts and imaginations.

A big thanks for taking up on my request.  Only one small ( rather a real big
one) complaint I have is - that you end with sending hugs and kisses to the
ladies and Megha only.  Men are not allergic to those - han!

Take care.

Rgds

Capt. Mahajan

From: Poonam Vaidya
Subject: Re: SCOF PLAY - SAMUNDER SAMUDRI NOW ON UTUBE !!!

Hi Actors, and helpers:

I just saw the entire play yesterday on video for the first time. And I am still smiling.
I wanted to say that I am very grateful and happy with how well our comedy skit
turned out.
All of the actors and supporting team did an exceptional job in acting, dialog delivery, stage movements, handling of microphones.
I thank all of you for the significant time commitment to attending rehearsals,
and memorizing lines, and patience in accepting suggestions from the director.

Thanks to Jot, Nitin and Capt. Mahajan for providing eapulettes, props, coordination support, creating and downloading music clips, creating  CDs, DVDs, prompting, and ongoing moral support.
Thanks to Kitty, Preeti, Jinobia, Sarita and Sangeeta for hosting rehearsals on
weekends and excellent food/tea service.
Thanks to ladies for pitching in and buying "hatke" uniforms and looking so businesslike yet so glamorous. (The bonus is that we added sparkle into our marriages. All husbands must
be happy with the wives. Ha ha.)

Megha thank you for adding the bubbly youthful ingredient. I heard some positive
audience response in "Mujhko thand lag rahi hai." I am sure Mom-Dad-Biraj must be happy.
All the actors did good sashaying and swaying in the background as Megha dan
ced to her various clips. Audience also seemed to be enjoying the last "
Uthe sabke adam."
Pratima, thank you for being so sporting. I believe people enjoyed the item number "Kajra mohobbat wala" because I heard good feedback from audience for that in the video soundtrack.

As for me, I love doing all this entertainment stuff, so a big, bigthanks to Capt. Mahajan for asking me to do it and having the confidence in me, and to Jot-Kitty, and SCOF EC for giving me and the ladies a chance to "show our jalwa."
Hugs and kisses to all ladies and Megha! And regards and thanks to the men.

Cricket " Bowled"

     Cricket  - Saturday 14th March - Inter-Association Tournament

Dear SCOF members,

March 14, came and went like any other day does, but, it left a lasting memory on those who were present at that occasion. If you do not believe me, ask all those SCOF families who graced the picnic and stayed right to the very end cheering and celebrating the success of the SCOF cricket team in the “Friendship Cup”. I would like to thank all those who came and supported the SCOF team.  I would also like to take the opportunity to say a very special thank you to Vinod Gulati who was the mastermind of this event and worked tirelessly to see us through the end even postponing his planned holiday.

As I had mentioned in my President’s write up to the Friendship Cup tournament “As you know there are no cricket fields in the ocean. However, I ask that you do not underestimate the Hum Shippies Florida Ke Spirit”. The old SCOF “Pirates” once again put aside their rum and whiskey and put on a tremendous display of power cricket to overcome a young and passionate Sindhi Association team in the semifinals to make it through to the finals. On behalf of SCOF members I thank the cricket players who have been coming for practices during the past month and for winning the runners-up medals in the tournament.  I am listing the names of the SCOF players who were responsible for making this happen. Please take the time to congratulate them.

 “The Friendship Cup”

The Friendship Cup is a unique concept for South Florida, and is primarily inspired & modeled on the huge success of the

DLF Indian Premier League T20. Its primary aim being to bring all our various Indian Associations together on a common platform -

the sports we love ! Make our own fun & excitement and relive our cricketing days!

"thefriendshipcup" is a non-profit organization. One of the many aims of thefriendshipcup organization is to sponsor Indian

"youth cricket programs" and such.

"thefriendshipcup" will be funded by monies that come in from individuals / corporate / small business sponsors and the Associations involved

& the participating & attending public.

Cricket - this first year, only four associations were invited namely IRCC, SAF, PASF & SCOF. We hope that this event will be a

huge success & become an annual fixture with many other Associations joining in the next year – in 2010.

If there is interest amongst the Associations - we plan to have Tennis & Golf later in 2009.

We wish all the teams the best of luck - may the best team win! Go get them!
